DESCRIPTION:
Levi Hutchins, Concord, New Hampshire, 8 day, weight brass movement mirror clock. The movement was made by Joseph Chadwick.
CONDITION:
Black painted pine case with a Hitchcock style mirror in nice condition. It looks like most of the gilding on the columns is intact under a dark finish. There is some scattered loss on the corner blocks. The mirror is period and most likely original. Dial surround tablet replaced. The tip on the hour hand has broken off. The original dial has some staining and is signed "Levi Hutchins", but the movement is the type made by Joseph Chadwick of Boscawen, New Hampshire. There may be some question about the current signature or Hutchins may have been buying movements from Chadwick.
